What are your links with St Anne’s?
I was very interested in becoming a governor and knew Chris Donovan through my parish (St Joseph’s in Epsom)
What are your interests and hobbies?
Writing, reading, films, cooking, music, singing, swimming and Pilates.

Divisional CEO of a UK plc.

What are your links with St Anne’s?
Our two children attended St Anne's between 1979 and 1988
What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy watching all sport and playing Golf. I am also interested in IT and aviation

Kathryn Donohue

What role do you play on the governing body?
Member of the standards & learning and staffing committees
Attached governor for personalised learning (including SEN, pupil premium & looked after children)
What professional and personal expertise do you bring to the school?
I work part time for a charity which recruits business support to help pupils in an inner city environment develop their academic and work related skills. In that capacity I work closely with Tower Hamlets primary, secondary and special needs schools and therefore understand the issues and challenges they face. In my role I am also expected to keep up to date on government education priorities and have fundraising experience.
My youngest child has had speech and hearing difficulties in the past and I am passionate about ensuring education is inclusive and understand its importance in a child’s development.
What are your links with St Anne’s?
I have three children in the school: Harry (Reception), Caitlin (Year 4) and Callum (Year 5).
What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy cooking and gardening.

Chris Donovan

Staff governor (headteacher)
When were you appointed?
September 2006
What role do you play on the governing body?
As headteacher, I attend almost all governor meetings, often providing other governors with the information they need to make their decisions and to hold the leadership of the school to account.
What professional and personal expertise do you bring to the school?
Although I am now a relatively experienced headteacher, I always welcome the challenge and support that I receive from the governing body.
What are your links with St Anne’s?
I have been headteacher at the school for ten years; previously, I was deputy headteacher at St Joseph’s in Epsom and, in this role, I led on a major project across all the deanery schools, including St Anne’s.
What are your interests and hobbies?
Music (especially composing), walking (particularly in wild and mountainous areas), cycling, theatre & reading

Julie Renaut

What role do you play on the governing body?
Member of the standards & learning committee
What professional and personal expertise do you bring to the school?
Working as a teacher in the school helps the other governors to have a better understanding of how the decisions we make improve provision for the children
What are your links with St Anne’s?
I have worked at the school since January 2009, teaching Year 1, Year 2 and currently Year 3. I am also the middle phase leader and English subject leader.
What are your interests and hobbies?
Music, reading, theatre, cinema and history
 

Sr Mary Kenefick

What professional and personal expertise do you bring to the school?
I have been a skilled educationalist for over thirty years and have held a variety of curriculum and management roles in a variety of primary schools in the UK.  I am a Religious Sister and hence have an acute interest and mission in supporting the Catholicity of St Anne’s Catholic school community.
What are your links with St Anne’s?
My Religious Congregation owns the property, though the diocese holds the Trusteeship at present.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy patch-working, crochet, listening to music and meeting my friends.
 

Chris Gomez

What role do you play on the governing body?

Member of standards and learning committee

What professional and personal expertise do you bring to the school?

A passion for early childhood education and care; an area in which I have worked for almost forty years. Since leaving school and training as a nursery nurse, I have built on this qualification personally and professionally. In 2012 I was awarded a PhD in early childhood education. I am especially interested in the social and cultural place of young children in different societies.

What are your links with St. Anne’s?

Having been a parent governor at my children’s school in Putney, London in the 1980’s I was eager to become a governor again when I moved to Epsom Downs in 2013. I responded to an advert for a Foundation Governor on the newsletter at St. John the Evangelist, Tadworth where I regularly worship and was delighted to become a governor at St Anne’s.

What are your interests and hobbies?

I love all kinds of theatre, and enjoy swimming, walking, music, reading and talking to my cats.

Legal and analytical skills

My three children are pupils at St Anne's.

Running, swimming, reading

John Little

I am a Foundation governor

September 2014

What role do you play on the governing body?

I am on the Resources committee and the Admissions committee

What professional and personal expertise do you bring to the school?

I am a Qualified Accountant and also a parent.

What are your links with St Anne’s?

My daughter is at St Anne’s as were my three nieces and two nephews.

What are your interests and hobbies?

I enjoy music, reading and football (Crystal Palace)

* Foundation governors are nominated by the Diocese (apart from Sr Mary, who is nominated by the Congregation of the Poor Servants of the Mother of God); these governors will always form the majority of the governing body. One governor is nominated by the local authority. Parent and staff governors are elected by the parents and staff respectively. All governors serve a term in office of four years.
